September 26, 2009 - Snow College vs Glendale CC

Chris Swank-B, Craig Adams-R, Dave Stireman-U, John Braun-L, Scott Zellmer-S, Justin Robinson-H, Morgan Bulkley-F

I was fortunate to get a JC game as a fill-in white hat. What a difference the timing and mechanics are from high school to college. I had a Janet Jackson mic and worked.. about half the time. I had a good crew of people to work with. Snow took it to them 47-14.

September 25, 2009 - Bountiful vs Viewmont

Craig Adams - H, Jim Kilburn - L, Scott Zellmer - B, Rick Leetham - U, Jay Weight - H

Bountiful and Viewmont. Cross town rivals since forever. I have had a bunch of grudge or rivalry games this year.. and I love it. Competitive games are ones that keep you sharp and on your toes. We had a great crew. We also had a weird never before seen by me foul called against the Viewmont sideline for someone having a whistle in the crowd. The game got tight.. but Bountiful pulled out a victory with a 23 - 21 score. What a perfect night for an outdoor event.. weather, scenery.. good friends. This makes officiating a joy.

September 18, 2009 - Sky View v Box Elder

Dewayne Martin - B, Craig Adams - R, Justin Robinson - H, Andy Hunnel - U, Chase Richins - L

This game could have gotten uglier that it was without some good crew people taking care of things. I think we had over 10 personal fouls in the 2nd half alone. It was a wipe out from the 2nd quarter on. Sky View 818-6 over Box Elder.. oh wait. .no it was 48 - 6.

Ralph was not able to make it.. but we did get the AD to take our picture while we were chowing down a burger / drink at half-time.
I had a bad start to the game.. Left my shoes in the garage on the car.. Luckily Justin has the same size show and had two pairs.. but one was at his home so he had to spend 30 minutes getting me shoes. Then Justin, didn't have socks so I lent him a pair of mine. After the game, I realized my towel was out in my car and Dewayne tore his in half.. just for me.. I was in tears.. just kidding. But it was nice gesture. Things like these are what make life; life! and fun and memorable. I had fun with the crew. I had not worked a high school game before with Chase and only an RMFL game with Dewayne.

I had the long solo ride back home as all the rest of them were from either Logan or Brigham City. That's ok.. I get to travel just like the rest of them do. I don't mind it so long as I have the time... and don't forget to bring my shoes!
